Peaceful Bliss Dwelling: A Harmony of Design and Environment

With a deep respect for the environment, Tsai Chin Ming embarked on this project with a clear vision - to create a design that doesn't burden the environment with redundancy. The inspiration for the Peaceful Bliss Dwelling came from the very environment it was set in. The designer wanted to create a space that was not only suitable for retirement but also in harmony with the surrounding natural beauty.

The uniqueness of the Peaceful Bliss Dwelling lies in its integration with the natural environment. The design's main axis is the environment itself, combined with local characteristics to present a simple and natural design. The building materials used, such as marble, raw wood, and slate, further enhance this integration.

The dwelling, measuring 31450*12050*11450mm, excludes the entrance, driveway, and planting area. Despite the complexity of self-construction, the result is a space that is perfectly suited for self-sufficiency and retirement. The design also takes into account the environmental humidity, temperature, and other related conditions in Yilan, using suitable decoration materials for application.

One of the major challenges in this project was to integrate local customs and conditions into the design. A large number of geodetic raw materials and color systems were used to achieve this. The design also incorporates the character "people" as its starting point, emphasizing a people-oriented approach. The windows on all sides allow for excellent ventilation and a panoramic view of the surroundings, adding to the overall appeal of the dwelling.

The Peaceful Bliss Dwelling is not just a design; it's a lifestyle statement. It's a testament to Tsai Chin Ming's design philosophy and respect for the environment. The project, which started in April 2016 and finished in August 2016, has already received recognition for its innovative approach. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, a prestigious accolade that recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs.
